First Silicone Expo USA!
Mariya was asked by the conference’s organizers to sit on the advisory board for the first Silicone Expo USA. The conference took place on June 21-23 in Motor City… Detroit, Michigan. This first of its kind trade-show and conference brought together a broad range of silicone representatives in manufacturing, industry and academia. Mariya was one of the few representatives from the Orthotics & Prosthetics industry and the only woman on the advisory board. You can read their interview with Mariya in Women in Silicones.

Alexandra accompanied Mariya to this inaugural trade show to learn more about silicone and potential applications in 14ELMT products. New to Detroit, both of us enjoyed the fabulous art throughout the city center and a reprieve from our Texas summer heat.
Being that silicone plays such an integral part in our business Silicone Expo was a wonderful opportunity to network, fuel our imagination and consider how to better prosthetics.
Chris Lake, L/CPO, FAAOP(D), a clinical prosthetist at Baker Orthotics and Prosthetics, gave a fabulous presentation on ‘Silicone in Prosthetic Applications’ addressing the specific needs and challenges that our industry is looking to solve with silicone.
